Overlay of New Concrete Next to Old – Eliminate Garish Contrast

Century-old concrete gets a fresh finish for this remodel. Instead of ripping out or refinishing the entire walkway to the boathouse, we installed a Thin-Finish overlay with integral color over the whole landing and down the first riser, making the transition from new to old. New is not necessarily better. New phone, new trend, new diet, new music — you get the picture. Who can keep up and why would you want to?

Charcoal + Desert Beige Thin-Finish Overlay

The overlay is colored with charcoal and desert beige, then sealed with a water-based sealer.

The new concrete overlay looks garish against the aged, original landing. To make the transition smoother we overlaid it WITH THIN-FINISH IN CHARCOAL AND DESERT BEIGE.
